Let me tell you why Anthony would say: Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep.

Anthony hated graveyards; it gave him the heebie-jeebies; they are quiet, cold and lonely, and Anthony was noisy, messy, warm and extrovert.

I was going to bring Anthony’s white van park it outside with ‘Anthony Woz Here’ written on his van. He loved his van it was battered, cluttered and smelly.  Anthony threw it around, and the van responded to him, (but I knew it would conk-out on me). Anthony loved getting things done; he loved life.

There are so many things you do not know about Anthony.

We would say Anthony “why do you bother with those people?” Anthony said, “Because no one else will.”  Anthony was a kind and generous person; he would bother with people that I never would.  Anthony would do anything for me, and I hope he knew that I would do anything for him. He did not deserve this.

There is a lot you do not know about Anthony

He was a great organiser, a delegator; he was open and talked everything out of how he was going to get it done and then shouted his orders.  His Mother said, “He was a leader; he lead men.” Some people are afraid of responsibility; Anthony never was, he just wanted to get it done, and he did, he got it done.

I would ask Anthony ‘Why do have to do everything so fast?’ he would say “I do know I just want to get it done.” He only had one speed, and that was FAST! Did he know he had limited time, so he had to move that much faster to get it all done?

There is so much to say about Anthony

I am so gratefully that when he was upset about something he would call me. Anthony made everything seem better, even his problems.  I do not think I advised him; he just needed to talk it out and then he was up and off again. “Got-to-Go Sis”. No one else called me ‘SIS’; I loved it.

He read voraciously. If you were lucky enough to get an hour with Anthony, you would think ‘WOW how did he know that, he had such depth that you just wanted to learn more from him.  Inevitably though Anthony would be off again. Whenever I had a problem he always made sense, his advice was so powerful; he always impressed me with his insight and knowledge.

There is so much you do not know about Anthony

Anthony always sailed close to the wire. His elder sister got a call from the British Embassy saying they needed her to settle Anthony’s hotel bill as he had run out of money.  Beverly said, “Where is he?” He was in Portugal; she said “how did he get there?” Anthony had found manufacturers, negotiated and shipped a consignment of clothes to the UK, which he later sold on markets and made a small fortune – ‘just like that’.  Anthony was 17 years of age!

There is a lot you do not understand about Anthony

Anthony was never down for long. For years he persisted against the City Council, when they applied discriminatory measures and underhand tactics to put him out of the taxi business; he had to fund his losses because his taxis were pulledoff the Road. He was so determined, Anthony  eventually won a case against the City Council, others would have given up or gone bust, but he kept going and won.

Anthony was never a plodder that’s why he found new opportunities that are why he was a real entrepreneur; that is why he was amazing, and that is why he amazed me. He went to America and within six months found an opportunity to buy houses and introduced this opportunity to the rest of his family. Anthony was a true entrepreneur from beginning to end.

There is so much I want to learn from Anthony

As a child Anthony was hyperactive, if you sat next to him, you would feel his energy and the amount of heat he gave off.  I now know why he moved faster than anyone else; Anthony burnt brighter and stronger and had so much to pack into his short life. There are some people that burn so very bright, but can only burn for so long.

So Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

‘Anthony Woz Here’ and will always be with US.

Who do you want to pay tribute to?
