Marketing, attracting and keeping customers
Marketing is the process of identifying anticipating and satisfying your customer needs profitably, this requires you to assess the environment to capitalise on opportunities and avoid threats in your efforts to attract, keep and grow your customers.
What is the cost of not taking advice in this area?
Without strategic marketing, businesses cannot get close to customers to satisfy their needs; and if they do not then a competitor will. The cost is a loss of:
- Competitive advantage
- Market share
- Best employees
The Business Growth Service state ‘SMEs grow four times faster with the support strategic advice’.
What is Strategic Growth Vouchers Advice?
Growth Vouchers provide a unique opportunity for your business to obtain advice tailored specifically to your business. The advice comes from an accredited Growth Voucher Adviser, such as myself. The advice will support your business growth and allow you to reach your full potential.
What activities will Growth Vouchers fund?
- Market analysis; including your competitors, opportunities and threats.
- Customer analysis: Who are they? What do they need? How can you reach them?
- Advice on how to satisfy customer needs profitably.
- Help to divide your customers into groups and target them effectively.
- Sales strategy analysis.
We have designed a programme based on the very successful key account management programme to help you secure, maintain and grow your strategic account and customers. Giving advice in all the five areas listed above, this is the Strategic Account Sales Evolution programme.
Are you ready to grow your business?
If the answer is yes then now is the time to act – before it is too late. You have less than 40 days to apply for growth voucher. The voucher provides up to £2,000 of MATCHED funding to help you get the strategic advice you need to grow your business. It is not a grant, you have to be at a point where you are ready to invest in growing your business, and the Voucher helps you and your cashflow to do this sooner. The Growth Voucher programme is, strictly, a pilot and so not everyone who qualifies get one, but 80% of businesses who are eligible do. So what have you got to lose?
To apply for a Growth Voucher your business must meet the following criteria:
- Your business is registered in England
- Have 249 FTE employees or less
- Is actively selling goods and/or services
- Has an annual turnover of less than £45 million
- Is independent (i.e. less than 25% owned by one or more external organisations)
- Has not received any strategic government growth funding in the last three years
If your business meets all of these criteria, just click here, and you can start the application process.
What happens next?
Apply for a Growth Voucher and then select an advisor from the Enterprise Nation Marketplace to provide the strategic advice (guess who’s on there!). You then have three months from the date of the voucher to complete the work before the voucher expires.
How does the voucher work?
Assuming you are using the full value of the Growth Voucher (£2,000), this is what happens:
Your chosen supplier will invoice you for £4,000 + VAT (£800)
You pay that supplier £2,000 plus all of the VAT (£800)
Your supplier then claims the remaining £2,000 directly from the government.
If you are VAT registered, you will be able to offset the VAT in your accounts.
Apart from that, just click here to begin your application. Remember that you only have until March 31st to get your Growth Voucher approved, so time is of the essence if you wish to take advantage of this growth programme. I hope this helps and please get in touch if you have any questions.
